Postdoctoral Research Scientist & Research Assistant in Gene Therapy
Nuffield Division of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, RDM, John Radcliffe Hospital, University of Oxford.
Applicants are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist and a Research Assistant to work with the Gene Medicine Research Group, directed by Professors Deborah Gill and Steve Hyde based in Oxford https://tinyurl.com/RDM-Gene-Medicine. As part of the UK Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Gene Therapy Consortium http://www.cfgenetherapy.org.uk we have developed a new lentiviral vector, which efficiently targets the airways and we are now seeking to further develop this vector in preparation for clinical manufacture and testing. Ultimately, we wish to undertake a first-in-human clinical trial in CF patients.
The successful applicants will be involved in the transfer of our lentiviral vector technology to a Contract Manufacturing Organisation for the production of cGMP vector for the clinical trial. This will include the development of new assays and evaluation of the safety and efficacy of the manufactured vector in support of the clinical trial application. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the clinical evaluation of a new gene therapy product.
